CDR was formed in 1999 by a couple of  pinoys that were passionate about motocross. The group started to grow as the sport of motocross became more popular. It started with 2 and currently have 48 members and  more coming. The last 2 years had been exciting due to the diversification of the group into different divisions; mostly extreme sports that were applicable and adaptive to the 4 seasons that Chicago offers. We have motocross and watersports such as wakeboarding in the late spring and summer, then we have paintball in the fall and early spring and snowboarding in the winter.Anyone that loves adrenaline hunting is welcome to join us.We have so many activities whole year round.
.

The results are in!!!

The Rider Down Foundation was founded by CDR president Alvin Ang on June 1,2008 in order to help injured CDR riders with both financial assistance and home health support. When CDR was established in 1999 no one had ever thought of the risk involved with motocross.Although it is always a given that every time we throw a leg over a bike we are always ready to accept the price we have to pay for the fun that it provides. We know it never happens to everyone but we never know when. But one thing for sure, accidents and injuries happened. That is why motocross track operators ,as well as the Chicago Dirt Riders always require riders to sign a waiver. However, Rider down foundation was established as a "HELP" and not an insurance payout but a unique criteria was establshed in determining the amount of financial assistance given to the rider , of course that is subject to availabilty of funds.
This year the foundation had provided financial assistance to three (3) injured CDR riders with three distinct level of severity. The foundation has set four criteria but this is subject to change depending on the next board meeting. The foundation helps the injured rider based on the 1)surgical procedures $$$$$ 2) hospitalization $$$$ 3) emergency room/ambulance $$$ 4)loss of work $$. The symbol $ represents 100 dollars
Next year,it could go up or it could go down depending on the funds available.
The motocross season is already over but the foundation is actively raising funds this winter in any shape or form. The foundation has raised $230 on the last dart and chess competition on Halloween day ,$260 on the latest acceptance and $30 on the snowboarding competition at Cascade Mountain. All efforts were spearheaded by the newly appointed Chairman Tommy Lira. So,if you have any ideas to raise fund at the same time, we all have fun call Tommy.

Tigbakay Final Fall Classic Sept. 20, 2008
Mother Nature was very kind this time,80 degrees and sunny whole day made it a perfect day for racing,be it motocross or mountain bike. The finale was very well attended and participated.Andot Rubi came over from Utah via Delta Airlines to race the in the Expert Class.he was a little bit rusty at first but got stronger in the final two heats, nevertheless the presence of the Quick Flight CEO made the race a lot more exciting.Jimboy Marcelo , a national rider from the Philippines made his presence felt by making Carlo Rodriguez make a run for his money. Dave Engelsman made a lot of guys in the expert class a run for their money too. However ,at the conclusion of the day it was Ki ,the track owner's son who was mistake free whole day came out the winner in the expert class. Youtube Video's

The Novice and Beginner classes were predictable except for a rookie in the beginner class who was showing flashes of brilliance and promising speed. Troy Celemin was just attending the Inaugural Banquet last December as a guest, won a jersey in a raffle draw ,bought a bike in the spring..now almost beat the executive class points leader by a point. The pit bike and pee wee races were fun to watch as well.
The mountain bike race was another crowd pleaser. The race was pure stamina and the need for a burst of speed to finish.ZN United Soccer Team was around to witness this finale and has an mtb rider Jackson Te joining in the race.Ray Valdez, another Mountain bike afficionado joined in as well. But it was Alvin Ang who put in a solid 1-1 ,getting his experience from racing BMX here in the U.S. got him the win. Congratulations to all the top 3 overall winners.
The Championship Banquet is scheduled on December 21,2008 @ Little Quiapo Restaurant. Slide Show

CDR WATER FUN
The Chicago Dirt Riders annual water fun has gotten
better each year. This time it has transformed into a
wakeboarding competition,a perfect way to put an
exclamation point on this very hot summer.I mean why
not? Guys had gotten better at the sports and the
availability of a very cool wakeboard boat and a very
enthusiastic sponsor.Liberty Home Health Care was very
generous and willingly supported the event. The
company's owners and employees are into wakeboarding
,so selling the idea to them was not difficult at
all.The CDR president had just gotten "..Finding Nemo"
a 21 ft Correct Craft Air Nautique Wakeboard boat. The
combination of all these elements....wakeboarders,a
boat and a sponsor would surely be a great
wakeboarding event .The event went underway @11am and
on hand were the" Mayor's" yellow boat and three
jetskis and Ambibo to cover the event.

The beginner class were the first to test the waters
of Round Lake Beach . Lake Icao dominated the first
batch with 6.8 who got out of the water quick but fell
at 33 seconds ., only to be overtaken by Troy Celemin
who scored 7.5 who tried three attempts to get out of
the water but stayed up more than 3 minutes, but
Carlo Rodriguez took the championship in the beginner
class who scored an almost perfect 9.The trick was get
out once stayed up a full minute .
The Women Class was dominated by Maita Bernedo who
scored a perfect 10. Rose Ang got second place and
Erica Sienes nabbed third place

The Expert class was a good battle between Alvin Ang ,
Lyndon Bernardez and Bobby Mayor. At the end of the day
it was the most difficult trick that made the
difference.Bobby Mayor made a premature one hander
only to fall off early.Lyndon made a a frontside one
handed wake touch but Alvin had his toeside and
heelside switch dialed and an ollie.Alvin Ang is the
new wakeboarding champion ,Lyndon got second place and
Bobby grabbed third.
CONGRATULATIONS to all the podium finishers.Till next
summer for the 2nd annual wakeboarding contest.

3rd Year Tigbakay Series,2nd Round
July 19

July 19,2008-The rain had drenched the pristine track of Ki almost the whole night and into the morning of the raceday.Whatever preparation anyone had on this very track.,scratch it!!! because the track is soaking wet and you better hold on to your dear life or maybe just on your grips. That's motocross!,weather is a non-factor and it levels the playing field except maybe for some who had raced a lot back home.I mean guys who grow up racing in the Philippines must be licking their chops knowing full well how to handle a mud race. True enough, the guys who had competed in this condition were dominating the race. The race was shortened to two motos from the usual three moto format. But it did not take the fun out of racing in the mud...kinda like mud wrestling. The day was fun filled with the addition of the mountain bike race which made the whole day exciting. Not to mention the attendance of 51 guests and 33 riders which made the event even more fulfillng.Till next race guys .See you in the fall.

The Chicago Dirt Riders nabbed the biggest award of the day "The Most Outstanding Organization" at the annual Hudyaka festival at Proesel Park in Lincolnwood.CDR did not garner any award on any of the sports category such as the Volleyball and Badminton games.. .ironically. However the group did very well in the uniform category, sporting their race bibs created a unique look,Their booth was eye catching with the Bikes of the year winners and a few other bikes on display. In addition, there was a "What's your element" exhibit which portrays the different CDR activities whole year round .Snowboards and wakeboard were also on display adding attraction to their booth. The raffle drawing for the "RIDER DOWN FOUNDATION" was another big draw of the event. The group was raising funds for their injured members by selling raffle tickets with fabulous prizes .The raffle drawing went underway at 3pm and these are the very lucky winners:
Phillips 32" LCD HDTV Flat panel....EVA EDRIAL
SONY 40GB HDD Videocam....GUTSY BAYAWA
APPLE IPOD NANO 4GB.....IAN AVES
Congratulations to the winners and to the CDR for a job well done!

3rd Year Tigbakay-1st Round!
May 17,2008.Oregon,Illinois-  A very beautiful Saturday morning greeted everyone who came today for the opening of the 2008 CDR Tigbakay Series. The rain had just missed the area by a few miles making it a very good day for racing.Four heads short of a century mark attended the event.56 guests and 40 riders to be exact came to register including the 6 pee wee riders .
The track was exclusively reserved for the CDR, a rare oppurtunity given to us by Ed and Justine of Ki tracks. The track has a new layout including the wide starting line which made for a very awesome throttle''wide open" starts. The track is very technical with a lot of off camber corners and kickers and the infamous Loch Ness monster step up which claimed the day of the up and coming rider Veinsten Icao who suffered multiple injuries. He is now in stable condition awaiting surgery. We wish him a fast and speedy recovery.

The bikes of the year contest was on and the majority of the votes went to bike no.9 Alpinestar yz250f of Alvin Ang for the overall looks, bike maintenance and upgrades.1st runner up went to bike no.16 yz250f of Jaemar Andrada, the voters must have had a taste for the yoshimura exhaust since these 2 bikes had been upgraded to the famous exhaust system.Bike no.1 monster energy replica  kx250f garnered the 2nd runner up honors owned by Neil Velasco. All 3 bikes will be displayed @the Zanorte hudyaka festival on August 2nd.

The REDBUD Experience‏

April 27,2007 Buchanan, Michigan-We just arrived here @ the Redbud track and trail entrance. They were grooming the LaRocco's leap as we drove in to register. We left Chicago around 8:30am central time and its already 11:30 eastern time.We just signed up for the open ride and we are going to miss the first practice @12noon.its okay!
Ten Chicago Dirt riders made it here. Everyone is thrilled to experience Redbud today
and who would not be?We had witnessed RC and Bubba tore this track in a dominating fashion. Its a chance of a lifetime to ride this track. Its a dream come true .
By 1:30pm we had our first crack of the famous track.Let me tell you, this track is AWESOME!!!!The very wide starting line, the very deep first jump, the Kawasaki table top, the ski jump, the LaRocco's leap, the finish line. What else?the sandy loam dirt and not to mention the size of this track. We learned that the average pro lap time is between 2.25 to 2.5 minutes. We average 5 laps for the 15 minute allocated time.you do the math. Not too shabby huh?
We packed up and loaded our bikes around 6pm after four tiring outings. But we are all smiles.till the next open ride.
